Our family just welcomed the newest addition: Logan Christopher, 7 lbs. 13 oz. He was almost a “Leap Baby.” Mom and baby are doing great. Logan joins older brother Brycen as my second “bio” grandkid and joins a whole host of “step-grandkids.” In a few weeks we will inter my wife’s ashes on the second anniversary of her passing. Grandma Sandy would have generated and shared great joy at Logan’s arrival. It strikes me just how fleeting life is. I’m also thinking as part of getting the most out of that life, we could strive to do two simple things each day that would make the world a better place: 1) a simple kindness, the Boy scout “Do a good turn daily” or friendly gesture, and 2) a simple joy for ourselves, a “smell the roses” moment. In a typical lifetime that would be a whole pile of “good stuff.”
Intentionally creating and enjoying simple pleasures in life would surely make the world a better place for our Grandchildren.
